Coming Back 2021.
Stay Safe and Be Well.
It all started for me 17 years ago upon entering a pet store in Frisco, TX running in to quickly grab a product…was I blindsided by a little furry creature that immediately caught my attention and literally stole my heart. He was just handsome, sweet and affectionate, determined to keep my attention using his greatest asset, those gorgeous yet sad brown eyes. I couldn’t seem to tear myself away from his crate…determined to never leave his side. Thinking…I’m the greatest hope for a home for this sweet boy. I’ve got to make this happen. So I did. Charlie Brown, a golden retriever mix was my first dog. I had no idea how to be a doggie mom except to be the person that he needed me to be every day. Our journey together for 9 years was amazing though not without struggles in overcoming injuries and insecurities related to his past. He was the most empathic, snuggle-bear pooch on the face of the earth. Full of life and endless energy he quickly became one of the most important ‘people’ in my life. He loved absolutely everyone and everyone loved him. He taught me so much about gratitude, love and compassion for all animals. Sadly, Charlie passed away back in 2008 from a brain tumor. Left with a huge void in my heart, I keep his love alive through my amazing memories of the joy he brought to my life. Today, he is the reason I get involved. By opening up my heart I’m able to help others raise awareness and support the needs of animals just like him.
In the heart of St. Johns County, FL (situated between Ponte Vedra and St. Augustine) lies a special county shelter know as Friends of St. Johns County Pet Center. The shelter has become a ‘safe haven’ to so many abandoned and mistreated animals throughout the county. As a 501(c)3 non-profit organization they rely solely on donations from gift giving animal lovers and the community in order to continue to provide a safe and caring environment. The consistent and ongoing goal of the shelter every day is to match and place as many animals as they can in the loving arms and homes of individuals and families. However, until they find their ‘forever’ homes, the shelter is what they count on for food, medical care, security and affection from animal loving volunteers and other animal friends. Without it, they may be lost to the possibility of finding a forever home.
Every animal deserves safety and shelter.
TODAY, through a wonderful friendship with a former real estate customer (and Board member of the Pet Center) who shares the same compassion and love for animals as I do…was a Man’s Best Friend Fundraiser born (a/k/a Bubbles & Barks) to help achieve the shelter’s financial goals and raise awareness. The ability to provide for these animals can only be achieved when like-minded individuals and communities come together to help support the need.
By doing a little, you change a lot. Every day, in communities near and far, people like you are taking the first step toward creating a brighter future for sheltered animals.
Your donation helps to protect their lives and needs until they find what they’ve been waiting for…a place to call “home.”

Our past two events have been a blast and an amazing success! We can’t wait to see what 2021 brings! What could be more FUN than bathing dogs! Imagine the suds, the bedlam, the barks, the whimpers, the tail wagging, the sloppy kisses, the wet paws and the slip-sliding puddles that are involved!
This is a family fun event for all ages. All domestic dog breeds from puppies to seniors are invited! Please be sure your furry family member is tolerant of other dogs, crowds and bathing. They are sure to enjoy the undivided attention of volunteer bathers and a chance to socialize with their furry peers during this special spa experience.
We hope you will come out this year and continue to show your support! This is a FREE event where the family and furry friends will enjoy a doggie wash, food & beverages, live music, vendors with FREE give-a-ways, raffle drawings, and MORE!
Donations are much appreciated. By doing a little, we can really change a lot.
